Where the Moths Sleep
Carried by the Portuguese studio BAP Animation and Camera-etc, Where the Moths Sleep is a highly promising film directed by Patricia Guimarães. Dealing with schizophrenia, it will be created using painted animation, with an aesthetic that is both beautiful and haunting. The 2D animation, which will serve as the foundation for the painted animation, will be produced in our studios throughout 2026.
This project has received minority co-production support from the Centre du Cinéma et de l’Audiovisuel of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.

The director
Patrícia Guimarães is a Portuguese artist specializing in animation, illustration, and comics. She trained at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon and at IPCA, and develops a practice that combines artistic creation with teaching. She collaborates with the BAP Animation studio and has contributed to several animated films, while also directing her own projects. Her work has been exhibited and awarded at festivals, particularly in the field of comics.
