The lookout
With his new personal project, Mathieu Labaye continues the exploration he began with Orgesticulanismus and The Labyrinth. L’affût / The Lookout also examines movement, specifically that of time, through the relationship between the infinitely large and the infinitely small, between the grand and the minor history. Currently in development, L’affût is among the 9 short film projects selected for the CEE Animation Forum 2024, which will take place on November 12 and 13 in Pilsen, Czech Republic.

The director
Animator and director at Camera-etc, Mathieu Labaye studied Animation Cinema at La Cambre, as well as illustration and comics at ESA St-Luc in Liège. He has directed several animated films, such as Orgesticulanismus and Le Labyrinthe, as well as animated music videos including Tchouang Tseu and Président for Manu Louis, Lagunefor JF Foliez, and Flowers for CONDORE.
