For her new project, director, screenwriter, and producer Anca Damian continues her collaboration with Mathieu Labaye and Camera-etc, following Marona’s Fantastic Tale and The Island.

Motherhood explores the emotional journey of a young girl from birth to the moment she becomes aware of her desire to have a child of her own, as if it were the very reason for being born into a female body.

This project received minority co-production support from the Centre du Cinéma et de l’Audiovisuel of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles.

The director

Anca Damian is a director, screenwriter, and producer of animated films. She studied at the National University of Theatre and Film in Bucharest. Her films (Crulic: The Path to Beyond, Marona’s Fantastic Tale, The Island, etc.) have won awards at international festivals and have established her as a key figure in contemporary animation.
