Trypophilia
A highly sensitive teenager, Maeva seeks refuge in the school bathrooms to escape the chaos. There, she discovers that scratching her wrists brings intense relief—followed by the appearance of mysterious little holes on her skin. The sensation quickly becomes an obsession: how far will she go?

Selected through our RESIDENCE call for applications, Jeanne Ruelle developed a sand animation short film project exploring the complex relationship with the body during adolescence in a delicate and poetic way. Trypophile received production support from the Film Selection Committee in June 2025. Camera-etc is now looking for co-producers.

The director

Born in 1998, Jeanne Ruelle holds a Master’s degree in Animation Cinema and Visual Arts (2022) as well as a Teaching Certification (2023), both obtained from ENSAV La Cambre.
